How it works

Understanding matters

InMyWords unites people who do not share a first language.

Explaining turns

Clients type in their own language and the message is translated for the English-speaking professional on their interface.

Contextual translation

The turn is translated with the entire conversation history, not in isolation.

Score the result

The system checks each translation against the original to ensure the retention of important details.

Revision

If the score falls below threshold, InMyWords immediately rewrites the translation without interrupting the flow of chat.

Any ambiguity?

If the source cannot be confidently translated, InMyWords questions the speaker in their own language.

The worker sees a note beside the turn saying what the check found.

Uncertainty covers that in detail.

Español / previous turn

Necesito un lugar seguro para esta noche.

English / for the worker

I need somewhere safe for tonight.

Fidelity scored against the source.

English / previous turn

Are you at risk from someone at your current address?

Español / your turn

¿Corre usted peligro por parte de alguien en su domicilio actual?

Fidelity scored. Register and the situation carried forward from earlier turns.

Running conversations

At a desk

Both people read the same screen. There is nothing to install, no link to send and no second device to explain.

On their own device

The person enjoys more privacy by using their own phone. Both interface and translation renders in their language.

If anyone joins the conversation, the app makes everyone aware.

Limits

When to contact a qualified interpreter.
