Social value

Social value

Public bodies in England must consider social value under the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012, and equivalent expectations apply across the UK. This is what InMyWords contributes.

01

Equal access

When a client does not speak fluent English, the service they receive is often reduced: an appointment postponed, a shorter conversation, a decision made with less of their account. The cause is not policy but how the service works on the day. InMyWords lets the straightforward conversations happen there and then, which leaves interpreter time for the ones that need it.

02

Employment and skills

InMyWords employees are paid above the National Living Wage. Academic collaborations are supervised postgraduate placements with a defined output, not unpaid work. Students publish their research, and the evidence they produce can be shared and used by everyone.

03

Environment

A deliberately light website, an ordinary web stack on modest hardware, small models on our own server, and fewer journeys to second appointments. Environmental impact has the detail.

04

No lock-in

Plans run month to month after an initial one-month commitment, with no exit fee. Your records leave with you: conversations can be printed, saved or copied as a case note where your organisation allows it, and the integrations API lets your own systems take what they need.

What we publish

So that others can check the work, and reuse it.

The method

How the product works, written for reuse.

Limits and safeguards

The known limits and the safeguards, written to be handed to staff.

Negative findings
