Business continuity

What keeps InMyWords running, what would stop it, and how it is brought back.

Who this covers

INT6 Ltd, a company registered in Scotland, number SC547705, trading as INT6, which builds and holds InMyWords. It covers the application, this website, and the suppliers they depend on. It is reviewed once a year and after any outage that reached a customer.

What it depends on

  1. The server. The application and this website run on one hosted server, behind Cloudflare.
  2. A language model provider. Translation needs one. While none can be reached, a conversation cannot be translated.
  3. Email. Invitations, sign-in links and notices are sent by email.

What we do

  1. Backups away from the server. The databases are backed up and the copies are kept away from the server.
  2. Every release can be undone. Before a release is installed, the server's administrator copies the files and the database it changes, and every release carries the steps to undo it.
  3. The code is held apart from the server. Every version of the software is kept in our own repository, so the application can be rebuilt on another server from it and a backup.
  4. The model provider can be changed. It is a setting, not something built into the software, so a failing provider can be replaced without a new release.

If it stops

  1. We tell you. If the service is unavailable, we tell the administrators of every organisation affected, and again when it is back.
  2. Conversations already held are kept. What is stored stays stored; an outage stops new work, not the record of what was done.

If INT6 stops

If INT6 Ltd could no longer provide the service, each organisation would be given notice and the means to take away its own conversations and records, as the terms provide on termination.
