Safeguarding

Safeguarding

InMyWords is used in conversations with people who may be at risk. This is how we behave around what they say.

Who this covers

INT6 Ltd, a company registered in Scotland, number SC547705, trading as INT6, which builds and holds InMyWords. It covers everyone who works on InMyWords, and the content of every conversation held in it. It is reviewed once a year and whenever the people who can reach content change.

Responsibility

Safeguarding a person in a conversation is the responsibility of the organisation holding it, under its own policy. InMyWords is a tool its staff use; it does not assess risk and does not raise a referral. Safeguards says where the tool should and should not be used.

Who at INT6 can see content

  1. As few people as possible. Only our system administrators can open a conversation, and only to support the organisation that holds it or to investigate a fault.
  2. Every read is recorded. Opening a conversation writes a line to the audit trail, with who opened it and when.
  3. Nothing is used for anything else. Content is not read for marketing, research or training, and is not shared outside the providers named to the organisation.
  4. Checked before access. Anyone given access to conversation content holds a current Disclosure Scotland or equivalent check.

If we see a concern

  1. We tell the organisation. If, while supporting a customer, one of our staff sees something that suggests a person is at risk, it is reported to that organisation's named contact the same day.
  2. Immediate danger. Where a life is at risk and the organisation cannot be reached, we call the emergency services.

Raising a concern about us

If you are concerned about the conduct of anyone at INT6, tell us, or use the anonymous reporting line described on modern slavery.
