Fair use
InMyWords is priced for real daily use by the people on your plan. This policy says what that means, what the product limits by itself, and what we do when an organisation uses far more than its plan is priced for.
Who this covers
Every organisation and person with an InMyWords account, on every plan, held from INT6 Ltd, a company registered in Scotland, number SC547705, trading as INT6. It sits beside the terms and the acceptable use policy, and it is the fair use allowance the terms refer to. It is reviewed once a year.
What fair use is
- Conversations between people. InMyWords is for a worker and the person in front of them, speaking or writing to each other. There is no monthly limit on the number of conversations.
- One person, one account. Each person who uses InMyWords signs in as themselves. A login shared between several people is not fair use, and it also breaks the record of who said what.
- The plan fits the people. Each plan includes a number of people (seats). If more people use InMyWords than your plan includes, we will ask you to add seats or move to the plan that fits.
- Documents and files as part of your casework. Document translation, case files and recordings are for the conversations and cases your service holds.
What is not fair use
- Using InMyWords as a bulk translation engine. Pasting or sending large volumes of text that is not a conversation, to translate it, through conversations, documents or the integrations API.
- Automated or scripted use of the screens. Driving the conversation screens with software rather than a person. Software belongs on the integrations API, within its limits.
- Load testing. Testing how much InMyWords will take, unless we have agreed it with you in writing first.
- Serving people outside your organisation. Providing InMyWords to another organisation or reselling it, which the terms do not allow (clause 2.4).
Limits the product applies by itself
These keep one organisation from slowing the service for everyone else. They apply to every plan and are the same for everyone. We may change them; this page will say when we do.
- One open conversation at a time for each person.
- A message of up to 4,000 characters.
- Up to 2 minutes of speech for each press of the speak button.
- Up to 90 recordings transcribed, and 30 messages read aloud, a minute for each person or device.
- Up to 3 devices in one conversation, unless we have agreed more with you.
- Documents translated up to 5,000 words each, unless we have agreed more with you.
- Case files and recordings within your plan's storage, as shown on your plan page.
- The integrations API at up to 120 calls a minute for each connection.
When an organisation uses far more than its plan
We keep a record of the translation and speech services each organisation uses. Where, for two months running, an organisation's use costs more to serve than its plan's monthly charge, we treat that as beyond fair use. Ordinary daily use by the people on a plan does not come near it.
- We tell you first. We contact the organisation's administrator, show what we measured, and say what we think is causing it.
- We agree a way forward. Usually the right plan, more seats, or an enterprise arrangement priced by discussion. Sometimes a change in how the product is being used is enough.
- Only then do we limit. If nothing is agreed within 30 days of our first contact, we may limit the use that goes beyond fair use, such as document translation or the integrations API. We give at least 7 days' notice of any limit.
- Conversations are not cut off. We will not end a conversation that is under way, or stop a worker speaking to the person in front of them, because of fair use.
Use that harms the service for others, or breaks the acceptable use policy, is dealt with under the terms and the acceptable use policy, not this page.
If you think this is wrong
If you think we have measured your use wrongly, or applied this policy unfairly, tell us, or use the complaints policy.
